And the votes are in!

Three fifth-graders help two-first graders cast their ballots.

The people have spoken. And they have chosen Duck for president.

Specifically, New Scotland Elementary School students in prekindergarten-grade 2 took part in mock elections on Tuesday that pitted Duck against Farmer Brown. Both are characters in “Duck for President,” a book about that explains the U.S. election process in a story about a dissatisfied duck who wants to see change on the farm.

Three classes of fifth-graders who read the book guided the younger students through the voting process complete with registration, ballots, voting stations and ballot boxes.
