Spooky STEAM Night a blast

Child in skeleton costume watches a small robot move across the floor

On Thursday, members of the Thomas O'Brien Academy of Science and Technology (TOAST) family donned Halloween duds and came back to school for a spooky, STEAM-themed evening!

STEAM is short for Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math. Thursday's fun began with “trunk” or treating, and with students costumed as assorted superheroes, princesses and ghouls, as well as members of Gryffindor and more – even a piece of pepperoni pizza!

Immediately after, everyone moved into the gym for a STEAM extravaganza where kids made skeleton catapults, built a Lego bridge across a graveyard, conducted chemistry experiments with Halloween candy and so much more.

Thanks to staff, families and community partners who helped make the evening a success! . (You don't need a Facebook account to see the photos. A window may appear that says, "To see more from ʿ City Schools on Facebook, log on or create an account,” but you can dismiss it by clicking “not now.”)
