On Wednesday, Superintendent (and percussionist!) Joseph Hochreiter donated a drum set to the ÉðÊ¿Âþ» Fund for Education’s Instrument Donation Program for City School District of ÉðÊ¿Âþ» students.
He handed off the drums to AFE Executive Director Mari Shopsis outside the district’s Academy Park offices.
The Instrument Donation Program collects band and orchestra instruments, instrument accessories like drumsticks and shoulder rests, and instrument cases. It refurbishes and restores the items and puts them back in the hands of our students.
Since 2014, the program has put over 500 instruments in the hands of district kids. In addition to AFE, the project is supported by Aimee Allaud, ÉðÊ¿Âþ» Friends of Music, the ÉðÊ¿Âþ» Musicians’ Association and John Keal Music.
