ÉðÊ¿Âþ» put hold-in-place procedures in place for about 30 minutes as a precautionary measure Monday afternoon after the ÉðÊ¿Âþ» Police Department reported receiving a threatening "swatting" call alleging a shooting incident at the high school. There was no evidence of such an incident, which a police investigation confirmed.
The school entered a hold-in-place and ÉðÊ¿Âþ» police responded to the high school shortly after 2 p.m. Monday. During a hold-in-place, movement is limited in hallways but instruction continues in classrooms.
No other City School District of ÉðÊ¿Âþ» schools were targeted in the call police received Monday afternoon.
Police confirmed there was no threat to ÉðÊ¿Âþ» High and the school returned to regular security measures at 2:30 p.m.
"Swatting" is an effort by an individual or organization to make phone calls to law enforcement officials to falsely report security threats.
