The City School District of ÉðÊ¿Âþ» was notified of 12 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 between Saturday and Monday. All cases and their unvaccinated contacts are quarantining at home.
The first case involves ÉðÊ¿Âþ». The individual is associated with 11th grade and was last in school Oct. 22. The ÉðÊ¿Âþ» County Health Department identified no additional contacts with the case.
The next three cases involve ÉðÊ¿Âþ» School of Humanities (ASH). The first individual was last in school Oct. 29. The health department identified two additional contacts with the case; one is vaccinated and does not require quarantine. The second individual was last in school Oct. 29. The health department identified three additional contacts with the case; one is vaccinated and does not require quarantine. The third individual is associated with third grade and was last in school on Oct. 28. The health department identified six additional contacts; three are vaccinated and do not require quarantine.
The fifth case involves Delaware Community School. The individual is associated with third grade and was last in school Nov. 1. The health department identified 12 additional contacts with the case; five are vaccinated and do not require quarantine.
The sixth and seventh cases involve Montessori Magnet School. The sixth case is associated with first grade and the individual was last in school on Oct. 22. The seventh case is associated with an individual who was last in school Oct. 29. The health department identified no additional contacts with either case.
The eighth case involves North ÉðÊ¿Âþ» Middle School. The individual is associated with eighth grade and was last in school Oct. 27. The health department identified no additional contacts with the case.
The ninth and tenth cases involve Philip Schuyler Achievement Academy. The first individual is associated with fifth grade and the second individual is associated with first grade. Both were last in school on Oct. 13, and the health department identified no additional contacts with either case.
The 11th case involves Thomas O’Brien Academy of Science and Technology (TOAST). The individual is associated with fifth grade and was last in school Oct. 28. The health department identified 29 additional contacts with the case; nine are vaccinated and do not require quarantine.
The 12th case involves William S. Hackett Middle School. The individual was last in school Oct. 29, and the health department identified no additional contacts with the case.
Health and safety procedures at all district buildings continue to include cleaning and sanitizing. We will continue with these procedures, and also will continue to follow all required COVID-19 precautions (wearing masks inside all district buildings, hand hygiene, social distancing of 3 feet or more in all classrooms, and other precautions).
We also would like to remind everyone of steps you can take to help be safe:
- Maintain social distance at all times from those you don’t live with.
- Always wear a mask that covers both the mouth and nose when inside at school or when your student is riding a bus to or from school.
- Wash hands with soap and water frequently when out of your home. If you cannot use soap and water, use alcohol-based hand sanitizer.
- Don’t touch the eyes, nose or mouth unless your hands are clean.
- DO NOT SEND YOUR CHILD TO SCHOOL WHEN THEY ARE SICK OR HAVE SYMPTOMS:
- Signs of COVID-19 are: fever, fatigue/tiredness, muscle/body aches or pains, congestion, cough, runny nose, shortness of breath/difficulty breathing, nausea/vomiting or diarrhea, headache, loss of taste or smell, rash, feeling sick or unwell in any way.
