Oct. 15 deadline for Child Tax Credit

The Advance Child Tax Credit could provide up to $1800 in financial assistance, per child, to qualifying families.

The credit is distributed automatically based on a 2019 or 2020 tax returns. However, even residents who did not file a tax return are eligible, according to the IRS. 

To assist with the process, the IRS developed a that is available in English, Spanish and six other languages. The page explains the requirements and allows residents to submit information to determine eligibilty according to the Child Tax Credit law. If elidible, families will receive monthly disbursements through December.
