A City School District of ÉðÊ¿Âþ» school nurse has been recognized as one of the top nurses in the Capital Region.
Sally Parker, a school nurse at ÉðÊ¿Âþ» School of Humanities (ASH), was selected as a finalist in special section of Sunday’s Times Union, in partnership with St. Peter’s Health Partners, called “Salute to Nurses: 7th Annual Celebration of Nursing Excellence in the Capital Region.”
Each year, the newspaper recognizes 25 local nurses – 10 winners and 15 finalists – nominated by family, friends, coworkers and others whose lives they've impacted with their work.
Parker - one of the 15 finalists - was nominated by Deb Salo, a fellow nurse who works with her in the ÉðÊ¿Âþ» School of Humanities’ health office.
“Sally is a compassionate nurse who has taken care of all the medical and emotional needs of our student population with the utmost care and professionalism.”
“Whether it’s caring for our COVID symptomatic students in isolation, explaining the ever-changing COVID regulations to families, administering meds to students ranging from daily doses of insulin to emergency meds for seizures, Band-Aids for scrapes and ice packs for bumps and bruises, she shows the same compassion and professionalism to everyone for whom she cares,” said Salo.”
Parker and the other nurses were recognized last week at a virtual celebration.
Congratulations Nurse Sally – the district, and ASH, are fortunate to have you!
