The marching ensemble for the City School District of ÉðÊ¿Âþ» will be putting on its collective Irish Saturday at two local St. Patrick's Day parades.
The ÉðÊ¿Âþ» Marching Falcons' first parade is at noon in North ÉðÊ¿Âþ», starting and finishing at American Legion Post 1610 on North First Street.
Their second parade is the annual city parade, beginning at 2 p.m. at Central Avenue and Ontario Street and proceeding down Central to State Street, finishing by Broadway.
The Marching Falcons are the district's marching band and color guard. The group is made up of district students in grades 5 through 12.
The marching band is under the direction of district music teachers Bryan Cady and John Halvorsen, with Mark Sanford as percussion coach. Color guard directors are Donel Mataruga and Ashley Zannito-White.
The mission of the City School District of ÉðÊ¿Âþ» is to work in partnership with our diverse community to engage every learner in a robust educational program designed to provide the knowledge and skills necessary for success. The district serves about 9,600 students in 18 elementary, middle and high schools. In addition to neighborhood schools, the district includes several magnet schools and programs, as well as other innovative academic opportunities for students, including four themed academies at ÉðÊ¿Âþ».
