There are still spots available in a free Oct. 28 training for people who want to volunteer as elementary school reading tutors in the City School District of ÉðÊ¿Âþ».
The training will be held from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 28 at Harriet Gibbons Student Services Center, 75 Watervliet Avenue. Lunch and a beverage will be provided.
Conducting the training will be the , which pairs adult tutors with students in kindergarten-grade 4. Volunteer tutors will meet with students once a week in one-to-one sessions, and they will be provided with materials and support.

Once trained, volunteers will be invited to join experienced tutor teams at elementary schools throughout the district.
