It’s day one of summer break and if your student is already looking for something to do, the City of ÉðÊ¿Âþ» has your family covered.
Superintendent Kaweeda G. Adams joined ÉðÊ¿Âþ» Mayor Kathy Sheehan, ÉðÊ¿Âþ» Public Library Executive Director Scott Jarzombek, and Department of Recreation Commissioner Jonathan Jones to announce a scheduled to be held throughout ÉðÊ¿Âþ» this summer.
“It takes a community to ensure our students’ success,” said Adams at the Lincoln Park Pool event where the the first-of-its-kind map for ÉðÊ¿Âþ» students and young people was announced.
The online directory provides the name, program description, age requirements, start and end dates and times, cost (if any), contact information and whether or not transportation and meals are provided. It can be filtered for easier use and is downloadable.
“It’s great to have partners in the City who think holistically about what our kids need,” explained Mayor Sheehan.
In addition to providing quick and easy information to families, the database is expected to help city leaders, the district and community partners determine where there are gaps so meaningful and safe activities can be added in future years.
