Construction students offer shed-building talents

shed-building talents

Construction technology students at ÉðÊ¿Âþ»’s Abrookin Career and Technical Center are looking to showcase their skills to people in need of a well-made, custom-built and reasonably priced shed.

Last year students built an 8’ x 10’ shed for the Athletic Department's fields at Stephen and Harriet Myers Middle School (see photo at right). Want something different? Submit photos of potential designs and the construction team will work with you.

If you’re interested, here's how the process works.

Design: If you want a shed like the one at Myers, students are ready to go. Otherwise, send photos of what you’d like to Abrookin technology teacher Arthur Erbe at aerbe@albany.k12.ny.us.

Building materials: You pay for the building materials required. Erbe and his student team will determine the materials needed and get a quote from a lumber yard for your approval. Materials are delivered to Abrookin, and the students build it there.

Moving the shed: You are responsible for the cost and arrangement of transporting the shed from Abrookin to its new home. Contact Erbe if you need help finding a mover.
