The ÉðÊ¿Âþ» County League of Women Voters has selected ÉðÊ¿Âþ» sophomore Faith O’Toole to represent the county at a statewide "Students Inside ÉðÊ¿Âþ»" conference to be held at the Capitol in May.
An ÉðÊ¿Âþ» High honor student by day, O’Toole also is studying American Sign Language at Hudson Valley Community College. She is the only student from ÉðÊ¿Âþ» County selected to participate in the League of Women Voters' conference.
O’Toole became intrigued by state and national politics last fall after spending a week in Washington, D.C. at a national “No Place for Hate” conference sponsored by the Anti-Defamation League.
The Students Inside ÉðÊ¿Âþ» conference is designed to increase students’ awareness of their responsibility in representative government, and to educate them about the process by which citizens can participate in the policy-making arena in our state government.
Congratulations to O’Toole on earning this wonderful opportunity to expand her knowledge of and interest in our civic process!
