March is Fine Arts Month in the City School District of ÉðÊ¿Âþ», giving families and community members numerous opportunities to check out the visual arts, performing arts and musical talents of our students.

Sunday, March 4

The Empire State Plaza Youth Art Exhibition officially opens on the South Concourse. The show features some 360 pieces of artwork by students representing all district elementary and middle schools, as well as art from 14 other area school districts. The exhibit runs through March 18.
Wednesday, March 7

The All-City Chorus Concert, featuring top singers from our elementary, middle and high schools, will be held at 6:30 p.m. at Stephen and Harriet Myers Middle School.
Thursday, March 8

The state Office of General Services will host a reception recognizing the Empire State Plaza Youth Art Exhibition on the plaza’s South Concourse at 5:30 p.m.

The North ÉðÊ¿Âþ» Academy Chorus will sing the national anthem at the ÉðÊ¿Âþ» Patroons basketball game at the Washington Avenue Armory, 3 p.m.

ÉðÊ¿Âþ» School of Humanities (ASH) will present its school musical, “Another Night with Disney,” 9 a.m.

Saturday March 17

The ÉðÊ¿Âþ» Marching Falcons, the marching ensemble for the City School District of ÉðÊ¿Âþ», will be putting on their collective Irish Saturday at two local St. Patrick's Day parades. The first parade is at noon in North ÉðÊ¿Âþ», starting and finishing at American Legion Post 1610 on North First Street. Their second parade is the annual city parade, beginning at 2 p.m. at Central Avenue and Ontario Street and proceeding down Central to State Street, finishing by Broadway.

New Scotland Elementary school will hold its Talent Show at 7 p.m., featuring a wide variety of creative performances.
Saturday, March 24

The annual New York State School Music Association (NYSSMA) festival will be held at Myers. Student performers from throughout the district will have their music skills evaluated at by a judge. Auditions will begin at 9 a.m.; school music teachers will let students know what time they are slated to perform.

The annual Winter Guard Home Show will be held at 5 p.m. in the ÉðÊ¿Âþ» gym; doors open at 4 p.m. The ÉðÊ¿Âþ» Marching Falcons’ winter guard will host 18 teams from around the region.

The top orchestral students from our elementary, middle and high school ensembles will perform in the All-City Strings Concert at 6:30 p.m. at William S. Hackett Middle School.
