Falcons perform well at NYS meet

Members of the ÉðÊ¿Âþ» varsity swim team completed some unfinished business at this past weekend's state swim meet.

The Falcon medley relay team - Carson Engstrom, Louie Cassella, Ya'ir Sasson and Cosmo Martinelli - placed 15th (out of 43 teams). It was an exciting race with our swimmers starting out in 23rd, then swiftly moving to the top 18 before finishing at 15 with a final time of 1:39:43.

The relay beat Guilderland-Voorheesville, Bethlehem, ÉðÊ¿Âþ» Academy and Niskayuna, teams they trailed in the regular season and earlier meets in the post season. The boys' medley team also broke ÉðÊ¿Âþ»'s record at the NYSPHSAA meet.

Individually, Louie Cassella came in 27th (out of 45) in the breast stroke, with a time of 59:36 and 13th (out of 56) in the 50m free, with a time of 21.90. Carson Engstrom placed 17th (out of 41) in the 100 backstroke, with a time 53.32. Both student-athletes also broke ÉðÊ¿Âþ» boys' swim team records at the NYSPHSAA meet.

Congratulations to our swimmers and head coach Rossi Maldonado on a wonderful season - we're proud of you!
